Backyards Project

A native of Chamonix and a high mountain guide, Sam Favret was quickly put on skis and started competing in downhill skiing from a very early age. At 16, he decided to take up freestyle and freeride. He gradually made a name for himself. In 2016, he released a film called "Backyards Project", which gave him the opportunity to express himself fully outside the framework of regulated competition. The most striking sequence of the film, "Ice Call", proved massively popular.

Julbo White Session: Welcome to my garden

A pro, an amateur and a dream destination – this is the idea behind the "Sessions" organized by Julbo. Sam's arrival at Team Julbo was an opportunity to set one up in his honor. He took winner Mathieu Giustini to explore the secret spots in his backyard around Chamonix at the foot of Mont Blanc, and he also showed him what goes on behind the scenes during a movie shoot.

In 2014, to celebrate his joining our ski team, Sam collaborated with pioneer Enak Gavaggio to design the "Welcome Sam" goggle.

Product development: Fam Cham pro model

For 2018, alongside Vivian Bruchez, Jonathan Charlet, Pica Herry and Léo Slemett, Sam puts his name to the pro model "Fam Cham": an elite ski goggle featuring all of our best technologies (SuperFlow System, Reactiv Photochromic and Minimalist Frame). At first glance, the reference to Chamonix is obvious as the goggle is loaded with graphic elements chosen by the five skiers who grew up in this valley. On the "front" side, there are ice axes, skis, the town's coat of arms, an Edelweiss flower and many other references. The "back" side features the knitted stitches of the ever-present woolen sweater worn by the first mountaineers and skiers.
