A unique adventure in Greenland to open a big wall route with Christophe Dumarest
Mountaineer and mountain guide Christophe Dumarest is inviting an amateur to Greenland to climb several big walls in the Fox Jaw Cirque.
From 1 to 30 August, the winner of the Julbo Vertical Session will take off with Christophe Dumarest and a team of photographers and cameramen to the foot of the Fox Jaw Cirque in Greenland for an extraordinary adventure.
After flying to Kulusuk in eastern Greenland via Reykjavík in Iceland, the team will board a boat to sail to Tasiilaq Fjord where they'll start a long approach walk to reach the foot of the big walls in the Fox Jaw Cirque.
Here, the faces can measure up to 700 meters, some have still not been explored, and they're just waiting for our team to climb them!
Under the guidance of Christophe Dumarest and the team, the amateur will help find the right face and the perfect line for an ascent that could mean spending a night hanging off the rock face!
In contact with the local population in an isolated setting, a base camp under tents will be set up near the climbs and allow the lucky winner to discover a new environment under the rays of the midnight sun. This is one of the special features of these Inuit lands at the edges of the Arctic.
More than a simple expedition, the winner will be part of an exceptional adventure lasting a number of weeks in Inuit territory alongside passionate sportspeople in a unique setting!
