Having adopted the town of Nantes, "John" converted to Finn sailing five years ago; he moved into the upper echelons in 2010 when he began training with Ed Wright, one of the best finn sailors in the world. With Thomas Le Breton, his training partner and competitor for selection, he has rapidly ascended the world hierarchy, finishing second in the World Cup, with a performance that nobody would have thought possible only a few months earlier. Endowed with a rugby player's physique, Jonathan has since produced a series of good results, even winning a bronze medal at the Olympic Games in London in 2012.
