/ Mountain biking
I grew up playing organized sports. Riding bikes was just something that I did with the other kids in my neighborhood. I discovered racing through my cousin who had a collection of old bike movies and magazines. The speed, mud, and jumps were the most awesome things that I had ever seen. I was hooked.
I joined a local club, got my first full suspension mountain bike, and started racing downhill. That summer I traveled to any race I could get to and thanks to my parents and friends it transformed into my first season of racing. I raced downhill for several years. I won the New England series in the expert class and went on to race three more seasons in the professional field. I steadily started entering cross country races. I fell in love with the pain and the feeling of pushing myself beyond my limits. I learned something about myself both mentally and physically every time I raced. Five years later, coming off my best season to date, I'm riding for the professional team Ridebiker.
