Anne Lise Rousset and Sage Canaday on the podium of Transvulcania

This weekend was the Transvulcania Ultramarathon in La Palma in the Spanish Canary Islands. This is a 74k ultramarathon race with 4 350 meters of positive gain and 4057 meters of descents where 2 of Julbo’s athletes finished on the podium: Anne-Lise Rousset 2nd and Sage Canaday 3rd.

In the women’s race, after a slower start than usual, the French competitor Anne-Lise Rousset picked up speed all along the race, overtaking her competitors. After 8 hours and 31minutes of running, she crossed the finish keeping a short advantage on her rivals.

This is a great performance for Anne-Lise. She improved her time by 40 minutes since her last Transvulcania race in 2014!

On the men’s side, the US trail-runner Sage Canaday, climbed on the 3rd step of the podium. He was fighting for the victory with the future winner until the last big downhill where he lost 10 minutes in the last 20k and was passed by a rival competitor.
