Tormod Granheim considered for Piolets d'Or

We are proud to work with Norwegian adventurer Tormod Granheim who is now on the big list compiled by editors of Vertical and American Alpine Journal, for consideration for The Piolets d'Or, which is kind of Oscars for mountaineering.

Last winter Granheim teamed up with polar explorer Aleksander Gamme and big wall enthusiast Andy Kirkpatrick Together the team endured constant -20 centigrades in the loose and Northfacing wall. 12 days effort lead to the first winter ascent of the route «Suser gjennom Harryland» in the very left part of the wall.

Granheim rose to fame when in 2006 he speed climbed Mount Everest in one day and then made the first ski descent of the North Face.

His current project is climbing all and skiing some of the 82 4000 meter peaks in the Alps. EpicTV is hosting a TV series on the project and you can watch the first one here:
