With a "downhill" past, it's his love of open spaces and the sense of freedom that pushed him towards freeride.
A few difficult years, then some years of pure happiness at the top of the world rankings before injuring his knee in a terrible fall in 2009. He returned to compete in the Freeride World Tour in 2010.
