Eyes on the prize
She only had eyes for gold, and we only had eyes for her. On Sunday, 14 August 2016, in the Bay of Rio, at the end of an incredible medal race, "Pic" was crowned "RS:X" Olympic champion! The holy Grail for the triple European champion (2013, 2014, 2016) and world champion (2014), never better than when she's got her back to the wall.
Since then, she's had a baby, making her a mother of gold! But she can't stay away from the water for long... A lover of the sea, attracted by the thrill of gliding through the water at speed, Charline Picon discovered windsurfing at the age of 11 on an introductory course. French junior champion three years later, she has diligently climbed the ranks, honing her flawless technique. First selected for the French national team in 2006, in the wake of three national titles, this windsurfing wonder has nerves of steel and extraordinary physique to perform on the international stage.
As we approach the end of 2017, after a quiet year, Charline has started training again in La Rochelle, and is raring to go with stars in her eyes. On the horizon: the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games and the dream of doing it all over again on the waters of Enoshima. A goal that's definitely attainable for this physiotherapist who was voted sailor of the year in 2016. A member of the French Navy and figurehead of France's military athletes, Charline Picon is ready to go back on the attack!

Her vision of Julbo
"If the wind is unsettled, as it was in the medal race in Rio, and areas of pressure play a crucial role in tactical choices, I like to wear my sunglasses with polarized lenses so I can make out the "cat's paws" or little ripples on the surface of the water. This allows me to reach those areas more quickly than my opponents. As well as being a formidable weapon in competition, most important of all, Julbo sunglasses also offer excellent protection from the sun."
