When did you start your sport? How did you get into it?
I started skiing at 3 years old at Stevens Pass in Washington. I didn’t start climbing uphill until I was about 19 when I was at University in Colorado. The alpine side of my sport began when I moved to Chamonix at the age of 23.
The greatest challenge and gift your sport has provided.
The greatest challenge has been in maintaining any kind of balance in my life but that challenge has been largely outweighed by the ad ensures and people I have experienced through my sport.
Fun fact that most people would never know about you.
I’m a pretty open book… I really love to read cheesy murder mystery novels.
Why Julbo? What is most appealing about Julbo as a brand? What excites you
about the brand? What separates Julbo from other eyewear companies?
Julbo was the first brand I affiliated with when I started climbing and skiing 8000m peaks. I lived in France for a long time and learned so much in the alps and Julbo made the best glacier glasses. That stuck with me for my entire career and I think they still make the best and most functional product for my sport.
Sweet or salty?
One piece of advice for someone looking to get into the sport competitively, professionally, etc.
Be tenacious and passionate.
When not training or traveling for your sport what do you like to do?
I love hanging out with my kids and getting them excited to be active and passionate boys. I also love to eat really good food but I am not very good at cooking that food:)
