In 2024, Antoine Mesnage found himself driven by the idea of completing a rather special tour of Lake Annecy. Supported by his accomplices from the collective Les Passagers du Vide (Passengers of the Void), the 30-year-old Annecy native came up with an extreme project: highlines were stretched from the highest peaks around the lake to complete a journey of 65 km and 3,800 meters of elevation gain. This resulted in the film Autour des lignes (Around the Lines), shot between sky and earth in an aerial dance between Mont Veyrier and the mountain Les Dents de Lanfon.

Antoine shares his adventures with his audience through breathtaking images and videos. His love for highlining began at a very young age, when he found himself “impressed by the aesthetic aspect of the sport and by the emotion it generated, both for the athlete and the spectator.” What motivates this photographer, drone pilot and film director is being in the open air and moving in the mountains, whether his feet are on the ground or over the void.

He’s also opened many extraordinary highline routes, such as the one between two peaks of the legendary Aiguilles d’Arves: 480 meters long, a human adventure and a beautiful slice of mountain life creating moments of jaw-dropping suspense. And not forgetting his repetition of the 50-meter line between the Aiguille Ravanel and Aiguille Mummery in the Mont Blanc massif in June 2024. Antoine definitely has a thing for the beauty of lines suspended in the sky.
