The vertical soul beyond limits
My name is Marcello Ugazio, and my path to the peaks hasn't been a straight line, but a necessary climb.
Originally from the plains of Galliate, I quickly realised my heart beat at a different pace: that of endurance sports. I was born a triathlete, used to challenging the clock and fatigue, until an injury changed the rules of the game. During this forced break, I found my true direction: the climb. It was the only dimension where pain faded and performance became pure freedom.
Today, I live in Crodo, right in the heart of the Verbano-Cusio-Ossola mountains. Here, between the clean air of the peaks and the technical trails of the Antigorio valley, I transformed a necessity into a new passion. I specialised in Vertical races and FKTs in SkyBike mode, the perfect meeting point between the search for performance and the adventure of the journey.
For me, every FKT (Fastest Known Time) isn't just a record to beat, but a dialogue with the mountain. From the sea to the most iconic Alpine summits, my single goal is to prove that an obstacle is not the end of the journey, but the start of an even more ambitious ascent.
