Two months. Just two months. That’s how long it took Richard Jouve to climb onto a World Cup podium. The cross-country skier from Briançon doesn’t like to wait and quickly established himself among the best sprinters in the World Cup, going on to win the small sprint Crystal Globe in 2022. A first for a French cross-country skier!
A RAPID RISE
Richard Jouve was only 22 years old when he first set foot on the World Cup circuit during the Otepää stage in Estonia. A baptism by fire that he finished in an anonymous 49th place. But the young man is built for sprinting and for such an intense effort. He learns quickly and well. In Lahti in March, before the season closed, he finished in 3rd place and announced himself among the big names in his discipline.
Over the seasons, the Julbo skier carries his unchanging smile to the biggest races on the calendar and is increasingly invited to the table of the greatest. The bronze medal in the team sprint at Pyeongchang with Maurice Manificat confirms that the Haut-Alpin, who wears the colors of the Méribel resort, is one of the men who matter. The young man is progressing on all terrains and the 2021/2022 season proved it.
