Mathis Desloges comes from the Nordic skiing club of Villard-de-Lans. A distance specialist in cross-country skiing, he broke through at the highest international level by winning his first Olympic medal at just 23 years old during the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games.

A dream race

On February 8, 2026, Mathis delivered a historic performance by claiming the silver medal in the skiathlon (20 km combining classic and freestyle techniques), finishing just behind Norwegian favorite Johannes Høsflot Klæbo. This result marked France’s first individual Olympic medal in cross-country skiing since 2006.
