JULBO X L'ÉTAPE DU TOUR DE FRANCE

The world’s biggest cyclosportive is fast approaching, and once again this year Julbo will be there as a partner for the most challenging edition yet of L'Étape du Tour de France. 

The most difficult L'Étape du Tour de France ever. 

On 19 July 2026, 16,000 cyclists will set out on the 20th stage of the 2026 Tour de France, taking on 170 km and an elevation gain of 5,400 m between Bourg-d'Oisans and Alpe d'Huez.

On the programme: iconic mountain passes including la Croix de Fer, le Télégraphe, the Galibier (2,642 m), and the fearsome Col de Sarenne, with inclines nearing 14%, before the legendary finish at Alpe d'Huez.
A true test of both body and mind. 

There were about forty on the start line in Bourg-d'Oisans sporting Julbo colours. The nerves mounting, legs twitching, and a shared determination to take on the legendary climbs heading towards Alpe d'Huez. 

Each at their own pace, yet all embracing the same philosophy, summed up by Léo Slémett: “as fast as possible, as slow as necessary”.

In groups of two or three, our athletes made their way through the field of 16,000 participants. It took Luca Cavallo 5 hours and 20 minutes to complete the stage and secure a historic victory, kitted out in his new PANORA sunglasses. 

For the others, regardless of rankings, crossing that finish line at Alpe d'Huez was a victory in itself. A big congratulations to the whole Julbo team.
