Baptiste Chassagne reaches new heights at UTMB
Two years after finishing second at UTMB, Baptiste Chassagne returned to Chamonix with one clear ambition: to fight for the win. After 174 kilometers and 9,700 meters of elevation gain around Mont Blanc, the Julbo athlete delivered another outstanding performance, taking second place at UTMB 2026 in 18:47:38.
He came to win. And he gave it everything.
In an exceptionally fast 2026 edition of UTMB, Baptiste Chassagne once again proved that he now belongs among the world’s leading ultra-trail runners.
After finishing second in Chamonix in 2024, then winning the Diagonale des Fous in 2025 on his very first attempt, the Frenchman returned to Mont Blanc this year with even more experience, confidence and ambition.
With Ben Dhiman untouchable on the day, Baptiste ran a smart and consistent race. Behind him, the battle for the podium remained intense right down to the final kilometers.
After more than 18 hours of racing, he finally crossed the finish line in Chamonix in 18:47:38, just 46 seconds ahead of third-placed Caleb Olson.
A second place made even more impressive by the depth and incredible pace of this year’s field.
Two UTMB podiums in three years
2024: second.
2025: winner of the Diagonale des Fous.
2026: second at UTMB.
Over the past three seasons, Baptiste Chassagne has established himself with remarkable consistency among the very best ultra-trail runners in the world.
But beyond the times and rankings, this performance is above all about a way of racing: committed, composed and generous.
It is a philosophy Baptiste has shared with Julbo for several years, and one that takes on its full meaning in a race like UTMB, where performance depends as much on physical strength as on the ability to stay focused and determined for nearly twenty hours.

An exceptional UTMB 2026 for Team Julbo
Baptiste’s performance capped off a fantastic weekend for Julbo around Mont Blanc.
In the women’s race, Lucy Bartholomew delivered another outstanding performance over the iconic distance, finishing 7th in 23:44:29.
On the men’s side, Antoine Charvolin also broke into the world Top 10 with a superb 8th place in 19:40:33.
Three performances that once again illustrate Julbo’s commitment to supporting athletes and being at the heart of the global trail-running community.
