A fresh start toward the summits
Originally from Tarentaise in Savoie, Emily was first drawn to alpine skiing during her youth, achieving strong results at the national level. However, after injuries and a shift in perspective, she chose to redirect herself toward ski mountaineering, a discipline combining ascents, descents, technical skill, and endurance, which she fully embraced around the age of 20.

A rapid rise and World Cup success
Since joining the elite level of ski mountaineering, Emily Harrop has experienced a remarkable rise. Since her World Cup debut in 2019/2020, she has won the overall World Cup ranking three times, as well as the sprint ranking. A versatile competitor, she shines in individual races, vertical races, and major events such as the Grandes Courses, including two victories at the Pierra Menta.

World champion
In 2025, Emily won gold in the mixed relay at the Ski Mountaineering World Championships, alongside Thibault Anselmet, as well as a silver medal in the sprint event. These achievements confirm her status among the world’s best. At only 27, Emily is now considered one of the leading figures of her sport, with the first-ever Olympic ski mountaineering event at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Games firmly in her sights.
