Origins and family heritage
Éric Perrot comes from a family of biathletes: his father, Franck Perrot, and his mother, Tone Marit Oftedal, both competed at a high level. From a very young age, immersed in this environment, he grew up surrounded by snow, cross-country skiing — and later biathlon. However, Éric insists: “he was never pushed into it; it was a personal choice, shaped over time through his own experiences.”
A journey built between France and Norway
During his childhood, Éric lived partly in Norway, which allowed him to discover Nordic culture and train with local young biathletes. Through these experiences, he built a solid foundation — technically (skiing, shooting) and mentally — adapting to varied and demanding environments. Despite this, he never abandoned his French roots: although strongly connected to Norway, he chose to represent France in competition.
Ambition, patience and success
In his early years, Éric was not necessarily the fastest or the strongest physically, but he stood out thanks to his motivation, consistent training, and eagerness to learn — qualities that those around him always noticed.
The first results soon followed. He made a strong impression at the 2019 European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Sarajevo, winning gold in the sprint in his first international race. Perrot aimed higher and further: he went on to claim two podiums, including a relay world title at the Junior World Championships. The doors of the World Cup opened to him at the end of the 2021 season, and in 2024 he earned his first individual World Cup victory in the Soldier Hollow sprint (USA). One year later, at the Lenzerheide World Championships, he became World Champion in the individual race and left with three world medals.
