From Lake Como to the world
Born on January 26, 1992, Francesco Puppi is a trail and mountain runner hailing from the shores of Lake Como, Italy. Surrounded by the spectacular landscapes of the Italian Alps, he found the perfect playground there — between steep alpine trails and fast roads — and thus forged his #AnySurfaceAvailable philosophy: running fast and smoothly on all terrains.

Where science meets passion
A former physics student turned world-class athlete, Francesco combines scientific precision with deep passion for his sport. His goal: to continue progressing as an athlete while contributing to the development of the trail community. In 2022, he co-founded the Pro Trail Runners Association with Kilian Jornet and Pascal Egli — an organization now representing more than 350 of the world's top athletes — to promote a more professional and sustainable future for trail running.
A stronger community
Francesco also shares his expertise through his two podcasts — Any Surface Available (in Italian) and Running Long (in English) — produced in collaboration with Vert.run.
He is coached by Tito Tiberti and supported by HOKA and Enervit.
