The vertical soul beyond limits
My name is Marcello Ugazio, and my journey to the summits hasn’t been a straight line, but a necessary ascent.
Originally from the plains of Galliate, I quickly realised that my heart beat to a different rhythm: that of endurance sports. I was born a triathlete, always challenging the clock and fatigue, until an injury changed the rules of the game. During this enforced break, I found my true direction: climbing. It was the only world where pain faded and performance turned into pure freedom.
Today, I live in Crodo, right in the heart of the Verbano-Cusio-Ossola mountains. Here, between the clear air of the peaks and the technical trails of the Antigorio valley, I transformed a necessity into a new passion. I specialised in Vertical races and FKTs in SkyBike mode, the perfect crossroads between striving for performance and the adventure of the journey.
For me, every FKT (Fastest Known Time) isn’t just a record to beat, but a conversation with the mountain. From the sea to the most iconic Alpine summits, my single aim is to show that an obstacle is not the end of the journey, but the start of an even more ambitious ascent.
