Mer Concept Repurposed Carbon Sunglasses

On the deck of a sailboat or in the city, these sunglasses give a second life to the carbon from Mer Concept ocean racing yachts. Offcuts and damaged parts are repurposed, then handcrafted in Quimper into light, tough temples. The polarized SPECTRON HD 3 lenses, made in Saint-Claude in the Jura from bio-circular polycarbonate, cut glare on water and tarmac while keeping colours true to life. The sunglasses were tested by Tom Laperche and Franck Cammas, winners of the Transat Café L'OR 2025. They come in a Jura wood box, with a case made in France from recycled textiles and a bracelet cut from a carbon offcut.
